All drugs depressed the following curve parameters: (i) HP range, i.e. the difference in HP plateaux from maximal tachycardia to maximal bradycardia; and (ii) the reflex gain (sensitivity). WebOff-label midodrine in the ICU is used to decrease or replace IV vasopressors. 1,2 Midodrine causes bradycardia through the baroreceptor reflex, similar to phenylephrine, another alpha 1 agonist. Overdose may cause bradycardia. 3 Bradycardia however appears to be an uncommon adverse effect at therapeutic doses.
