There is a way but special tools are needed as described in the service manual to hold tension on the chains to maintain timing (EN-46108). That was addressed a few years back with internal mods and recalibration of the OLM. If the oil level stays at the right amount there should be no chain problem. It was caused by a bad PCV system on the rear bank that caused the pcv valve to clog and cause oil sludge on the rear chain. 7500 oil changes were revised to 5k. I did change the gears, and yes there are two timing marks, need to align the crank pulley to stage one on the block and than align all marks to the chain on all pulleys on left bank, and than roll engine into stage two and align marks on right bank.
