You can do this by manually closing it from the open position, or from closed by pressing the button on the outside handle a second time to stop it, or with the fob button (2x). Select the … WebFeb 5, 2024 · Just to close this out: I fixed it myself by removing the tailgate, loosened the two big torques with the recess heads on the hinge. Used a punch to set the hinge about 1/8" farther forward. I also loosen the long catch bolt up top and moved it forward about 1/8". Tighten the screws and put the tailgate back on.

I have tried pressing against the door to reduce load on lock mechanism while trying to open the boot - no luck. Loosen that bar it is two torx heads, move that bar towards you about a 1/4 of an inch slightly retighten it and shut the tailgate. If gate is flush then open gate and fully tighten bar.
