WebFeb 5, 2024 · I contacted pod-point earlier today I really doubt a problem with the charging point as they don't lock, it is the car that lock it in. To me it sounds like a faulty solenoid on the car socket. A way to verify this is to plug the Type 2 cable that came with the car into the socket, lock the cable then unlock and see if you can easily remove.

I agree with the above. If its fizzing there's a bad internal connection. It will get hot eventualy. Consider it a fire risk and switch the RCBO off.

WebPod point were helpful all the way through arranging installing. We were delayed numerous times by Electricity providers but each time Podpoint rearranged appointments. Seems quite expensive.
